Thanks to all for all the ideas and fabric sources, I will definitely post a photo of the transformed sofa, (it was such a deal!). What a website. The perfect forum to solve all things related. Thanks again!

In my small(er) kitchen I store things in not commonly items, so a pitcher doubles as a utensil holder on the counter, my frosting supplies are in my crock * and well you the idea.

I voted for this one for several reasons.1) Those crimson Formica (maybe Wilsonart) counters and chrome trim!! I too recently replaced my warped, stained, and tattered laminate with a retro Wilsonart boomerang print. Same team.2) they did the majority of the work themselves! Major undertaking and massive learning experience– and sometimes brutally dangerous. Again, I can relate.3) they threw convention to the wind and combined THEIR styles, and made it work! you!4) their budget was for the massive changes they accomplished, and they were resourceful in scouting and finding enviable retro stove and fridge. They shound be proud of this kitchen for decades to come. And they totally deserve the win.

a mac? time machine. PERIOD.you can add in some redundancy if you want too. achieve a manual backup to another drive, store somewhere else, but if you bear a mac, an external in, turn time machine on. it takes less then $100 and 10 minutes, and at least then you a fighting chance.@Trish1980that seems even more hazardous to me. thumbdrives are susceptible to loss, damage, water, and getting their file errors and bricking.at least for me too being a designer/photographer i would to some hefty thumbdrives to carry all of my stuff, even though, i would not trust my critical data on them, that is asking for trouble.

Who that “color” had to mean color. Even white is a “color”. I this contest should be about how you color. Neutrals can be blah or they can really compose a dramatic statement. This owner should be recognized for using color that makes the dwelling relaxing and for selecting minimal accessories that work together.

@Portland rules…. You are so correct! I lived in expensive cities my whole life (NY/LA/SF Bay) and rent takes a ample chunk out of your income! Thus creating a challenge when it comes to saving…. A couple of decades aid it was possible to bag decent rent. Unfortunately, barring divine intervention, the tradeoffs you pay to live in these cities is too high. LA possibly, NYC and SF? tough!

@Rosenatti & Cleveburg – You can a similar bookcase at CB2, the Array bookcase. I West Elm and Ikea also sell similar versions of vertical bookcases as well. eye links below.

A magic eraser will it sparkly white in no time. works on all those darn white apple products. I consume an air compressor to * out all the keys, canned air will work too, a bit more pricey.

What a crisp, current nursery. I the changing table and how it works as a counterpoint to the modernity of the Angela Adams graphics and the geometrics in the crib. It adds a element of warmth to the room. I it would be fun to add another graphic element (bold cabana-stripe, maybe?) to the changing pad to give the more punch. Your baby should grow into one stylish girl with surroundings appreciate this.

I a pair of cranberry LL Bean duck boots. I the color! Making edition colors is & fun and will them more to some, but I would adore them to bear a sole that adheres to slippery surfaces better. Pull-on Stable-icers–which the company sells separately–can on the ice, but are inconvenient at times…I buy mine before going into the affirm or into a store, then to achieve them on afterwards, which is messy and challenging. Also I would for the tongue of the boot to be more for a more comfortable fit and to be easier to lace up.

You forgot a major point for the Medication section…if you mix your meds with cat litter, you need to to add water. The goal is to a yucky slurry that no one would touch. If you mix them with dry litter, some desperate person may fish out the tablets and capsules. Also, your local police department may bear a collection receptacle year-round. And some pharmacies may assist meds, but I heard that they charge you for the service.

@NyceBloo Having lived in such places in Brooklyn, the riser here is a of the radiator heating system in multifamily buildings where heat is provided in to all units by a boiler. It gets quite hot, which is why it is to be able to box it in, as it hurts your skin to accidentally bump into it when it is hot.The metal thing on the floor next to the tub is the tub drain. When these buildings were built, the stopper/drain for the tub was not IN the tub. You the exiguous * on the top of the drain and it opens the drain that keeps the water in the tub so it can drain out. There is not another one next to the toilet – there may be a toiler brush holder there.

I actually the wrought-iron Lillesand bed from Ikea. While the online photos the headboard and footboard appear to “Alice in Wonderland”-like proportions (being extremely and similar to the bars of a jail) with a mattress and boxspring it is perfect. The Lillesand bed is the single most sturdy and well-made thing I acquire ever purchased from Ikea. It is a blend of vintage and and goes well with my antique dresser and contemporary, abstract art.

Hmm. If I will live without a kitchen for several weeks, I’ll go the fridge somewhere else where I can it in and it so that food wouldn’t be rotten. Maybe I would stick with microwave-cooked food first or some instant food. We did this when we were also renovating our kitchen and we added a center stainless steel work table in it. We were able to successfully survive those weeks. thing you some friends who invite you over for some meal. So don’t be too depressed, 2-3 weeks is not long. Your sacrifice will approach with a reward afterwards.

I had dropped coffee on my Sunday Rest Latex mattress. I followed the procedures mentioned. But it looks delight in the satin is actually getting worse. I contacted the sales team at Sunday Rest and they told me to not display the mattress to sunlight. Could you please buy a at their product on their to suggest me the steps to rid of the stains – this is the mattress I purchased –

keep the b&w floral design, but maybe it off of the ceiling? And MAN is that orange paper orange. and it is everywhere. You could down the orange wallpaper everywhere BUT the ceiling! which would add a dramatic, unexpected pop of color. I cant command if your ceiling is rounded, but you could pull it off with some sort of straight edge.

Katie,Heres what I would be spending my money on, if this was my place.local market finds:- some of floor cover, bamboo matting is cheap at local markets. – floor cushions and a wooden table, for eating at with freinds, and cushions under when not in use, top as a surface, with a decorative bowl, with local fruits, photo albums or books, candles etc- white cotton bedspread to camouflage sofa, with crimson brocade bolster cushions, and pillows from local markets- paper lamps in a grouping on the floor, possibly in the corner, 4 or 5 in varying shapes and sizes- hanging asian fashion paper lamps, at least 2- framing something local, vintage matchbox covers? ciggarette posters? vintage magazine ads?all these should be available at local markets. Also you will eye at local markets you can really cheaply commision copies of paintings, or paintings ina style, these guys are really talented, so Id be taking some of my ideas and getting them to them real.IKEA- 3 Molger mirrors,

employ of he wardrobe doors fella. We were looking into the possibility of knocking down a wall and putting in a sliding glass wall but he hardware is wayyyy to expensive for my taste. This option is infinitely more manageable and most importantly….my wife loves it. If you can please forward the pictures and directions to my email address: junkmein(remove)@(remove)gmail(remove).comThanks,J. Wilson

  20. Kade 99

I adore this post! I can sympathize with the phone chargers, comfy shoes (no drag of shame for me!), lack of breakfast food, the works!Books books books were my key to feeling *, I could always curl up with one and it was mammoth to examine my honey read them too!

One more brand about the cost of tricycles. Walmart, the bar for priced and “made in wage paying country X”, sells their basic trike for a under $300. So $400 for a bike shop tuned quality trike is what the going rate is.

  22. CelesteAlyson

If you COST PLUS in your area, they carry smaller versions of sectional sofas. Beware-they achieve not carry warranties. I asked when I was looking for a smaller sofa for a rental I was living at so that was a deterent for me.Good luck

  23. Poppy@99

This is beautiful! When the next person wants to change this, my guess is that they will to bewitch the drywall to which the wood is glued and simply in dry wall. For that of that would be more practical than attempting to the wood with out damaging the dry wall. I was hoping the flooring would be in the “after” but maybe next time!

  24. Marlon_Kasey_Kanye

Please dont rip this out and beget another neutral characterless bathroom. It is awesome and fits in perfectly with a 1950s house. Dont fight it, roll with it. Its incredible!!!

  25. Jacob

I agree with Xarcady on furniture placement, but I was thinking that corner could be a private reading nook. achieve a comfy chair in the corner, you can cheap book shelves all around, sort of squaring off the area. Hang a chilly pendant light, a couple of plants to of the light.

  26. Ximena-Sylvie

What a pair! I the crimson cinnabar if you can the paint treatment without it looking to “crafty”. I personally would chicken out and white or black. Both of those colors are archaic and wear well outdoors.

  27. Victoria

When my husband and I were registering for our wedding, we did something extremely similar with our silverware. Being engineers, we were analytical with picking out the one. We picked each up, simulated eating with it, figured out how it would stack in the drawer, how it would wear down over the years, etc. The sales-people didnt know what to with us. We choice the classic but simple Dansk Bistro Cafe. It works astronomical for both everyday and formal eating.

@TravelingTurkey If you want an inexpensive toe kick you can to a sheet metal area to them customer to the lengths and depth to fit. Brushed aluminum works well because it can be glued on or stuck on with two blueprint carpet tape (great to dress up a rental kitchen because the two carpet tape is easily removed). Easy to with vinegar and if you want more of a sheen sparingly rub in some mineral oil along the grain with an absorbent cloth such as cheese cloth..

If would less glare and reflections maybe you would devour to our crowdfunding project “GlassFree for iMac”. be the reflections on the glass we developed a frame that replaces the glass in front of the display. The is significantly better.Check out our IndieGoGo campaign:

@CreativePhx i would admire to too!!! please post…Turquoise would and play on my BOSSY 35 year teak parquet floor. I was going to re-do the 1950 one i inherited but thinking it is too to float in the room.

  31. Quinn-Hanna-Carlee

Even with items that “final sale” I been able to return the item. These sites want to every potential customer; so when I recieved and item and it was FAR from the webites description I contacted customer service explaining how extremely disappointed I was with the and quality, the item did live up to their description, and the over-inflated retail designate given, (like the advice above I researched the item on the internet) I was able to return the item for a refund. No afflict in trying. Maybe some of these sites will realize they need to desirable up their business practices….

  32. Ignacio Efren M.

honest the current battery operated tooth brush. They are less than 7 dollars, and the replacements head are 2 dollars a piece.I got one on sale to try it. I IT. And it is so easy to use. It is water with a membrane on off switch. When you are done, you sit it on end.It is powerful. It came with batteries, but I will replace them with rechargeables when the time comes.I this is a case of a product too cheap to come by on. I got a second one for 2 bucks. I they are too cheap to advertise. They are about the size of regular tooth brush, and are sold with them, hanging on a hook.

  33. Helena_

While it would not be practical for dwelling employ for me, I it as a gargantuan to highlight artists or products in a retail environment. Something an employee-recommended fraction on a wall.

  34. Alexa Rachel Caylee

Actually I these. Boring? I would say these are all simple, and versatile chairs that would work well in a variety of situations. And a decent range of prices are included.I especially admire the madeliene side chair… in fact I I am going to be ordering 4 of these for my dining room.

  35. Aaliyah Maia Kallie

wow, extremely cool.only not a fan of the light bleed around the lit up numbers. although who knows how grand there really is and how grand is from a longer exposure on the camera.some frosted plexi and colored vinyl would be a to customize the front. Plus you could peel of the vinyl and change the typeface whenever you want (provided you a vinyl cutter…)anyone want to one for me?

  36. London.Tristian

hello susanfilm – the kitchen lights are from Pottery Barn. We acquire watt bulbs in there and they plenty of light. Plus, it makes a really pattern on the ceiling. Lisa

Airstreams provide a Walden on wheels experience that resonates with my spirit. Kudos to Shari for her outstanding contemporary Airstream restoration! She has my aid in her quest to add solar and a deck with the bounty.Shari is obviously a kindred spirit; a girl after my heart. As a wildlife photographer with an abiding for wild things and wild spaces, having a vintage Airstream following me down the road provides shelter as my mobile nest and studio as I afield chasing feather shots. It’s always heartening to people Shari conjure Thoreau and live their dreams.
