Firstly, the type of container you use makes a whole world of a difference to your container garden. Start with the shapes of the containers. Not every pot has to be the regular round, terracotta pot. Go for different colors, get creative and paint your pots if you like. You can also opt for a variety of different materials including ceramic and stainless steel pots. Finally, go for pots of different heights to create interesting level differences that add to the aesthetic appeal of your container garden. You could also hang your pots which adds a whole new dimension to the visual appeal of the garden.

Then for the plant in container gardens, depending on the kinds of plants you wish to grow, there are different ways in which they can be used to create an interesting container gardening designs. If you want to create container gardens with flowers, you can opt for flowers of the same color, or different shades of one base color. It could be blue and purple, or pink, red and purple. On the other hand, you could choose a completely contrasting color scheme such as pink and blue to alter the design of your container garden.

Make sure that the color of your plants and pots do not clash with each other. You must ensure that the pots and the flowers make a good combination on their own. Similar is the case with creating a vegetable container garden. Choosing different shades of greens, along with various textures, also adds to the beauty of a garden. Do remember, that the texture of a pot combined with the texture of a plant can make an outstanding design effect. Plant varieties for containers also help in adding to the beauty of a container garden. Ideally, a container garden should have a combination of these 4 types, namely, thrillers, fillers, accents and spillers. Thrillers mainly add height to your garden as they are a variety of upright plants. Use these where you would like to create an illusion of height. Fillers, on the other hand, provide the effect of a rich, lush garden. Accents are meant to highlight your garden, so a dash of burgundy leaves among greens is what will create that extravagant factor. Spillers refer to plants that spill out of and over the pot, and into another pot. These also give the illusion of a rich lush garden. Create a combination of these as another option for a focal point in your garden.

For the placement, not all plants have to be kept together. Create clusters of plants that are similar, in sunlight and water requirements as well as those that create a focal point together. Decide on a suitable location for your plants. You could make the cluster of pots of different heights, textures and colors, a focal point, and then have a few containers strewn here and there. Creating a pathway by placing container plants along the edge of a path is another way of adding interest to an otherwise regular garden. Whether you need container gardening design for your patio, a deck, or a garden, there is a lot you can do to accentuate it even further. Add to it accessories such as water features, unique landscape lighting, wind chimes, and other small figurines to complete your container gardening designs. Finally, these were some tips and trick for you. Whether you have a little space or a lot, container gardening designs provides even the biggest brown thumbs with the chance to play in the dirt. I recently purchased this one in white for $124 from Overstock. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality (just appreciate the more expensive ones sold at Chelsea Market) and it also came filled, sans smell:

I too got a giggle at the “kitsch-free” title, even though I several of them. However, if you want intense color and pattern combos a la Gustav Klimt, check out these needlepoint kits. Not inexpensive, but gorgeous, and apparently easy enough that my mother made two for my sister and I, her first try at needlepoint, with no problems.

There are a few options for dressing up your ceiling medalion. As already noted, you can paint the whole medalion or the moulding of your medalion the same color as your cornice mouldings or ceiling in a high-gloss paint. You could bear a glass shop an appropriately sized round beveled glass mirror which would be installed centered within the outer moulding of your medalion. As for the light fixture, you may wish to change the domed fixture to a chandelier. A fixture with one or more clusters of lights in its top will light on the ceiling and medalion creating light effects. If a mirror is incorporated into the medalion, the light reflection will be reflected on the table as well as the ceiling.

Hey thanks again for all the words first of all…very flattering. To the questions…the metal wall art I bear is called “Flower Burst” but was purchased a couple years ago so they may not carry it anymore. The mirrors are IKEA baby, and the lamp is from a Missouri country store called (?) that I only has a website presence currently. As for the orange and longhorn, yes there is a story…I had painted the wall white first, then applied longhorn stickers before painting the wall BURNT orange. I then peeled the stickers off. I had them all over the wall…until my wife got and left me with one:(

We Ikea all over our place. Our entire kitchen is Ikea, but we mixed it carefully and knew when to stop. We also altered surfaces that were the least expensive at ikea to the we wanted.

money is tight for us now and area is tight as well in our house. so my parents and my ILs are each paying for a session of lessons for my 3 1/2 year daughter (gymnastics and swimming). They are both things she loves doing and are things we may to out otherwise.

Emily, my apologies! got off the phone with Bionaire – @1#$%&! – and they advise me they are discontinuing this product. No matter. There are plenty left online AND the replacement from Bionaire – which may a while to my thumbs up – is the BAP 825U, which is a diminutive tower with permanent filters. Maxwellhere is the link for the larger model:

I read that the vinegar answer is also better for the interior workings of the appliance than any commercial Jet-Dry type of product, and can assist protect the longevity of your dishwasher. Not how credible this info was, but I it came from an appliance repair dude.

I to wonder what people mean when they say they only want “good” art? Art that appeals to everyone or has a name attached to it?Personally, even if the wooden hands are a bit clunky or the tree too orange, I be pleased the spirit and ambitious creativity of the homeowners and their willingness to a personal statement. To me, the of any artistic statement comes from having a dream and expressing it to the world, warts and all.

Michelle,As a designer and artist I am often comfronted with tricky spaces in clients homes. Not the history of your nor being able to the rest of the home I can offer you this. You can a twist to the of a fireplace ( and inspired by gretchens post) I would paint the wall an accent color that will highlight your space, add a elegant line mantel ( roughly 5 inches thick and let it the width of the wall). wood logs in varies sizes, from 5 to 12 inches ( whole logs) and stack them as tightly as you can them, leaving to no in between. You can add an of art work, or layer b/w photographs togther. The here is to a impact and to the absorbing around. If this was my dwelling I would add a light box above the mantel to a extremely soft glow then employ tree branches (standing upright) along the mantle and install a light source the logs so that it can from behind. Makes for a organic art display. If you want a cleaner look…Make it a floor mirror. a custom frame around 12 inches wide all around with a mirror in the center. You can a console in front of it. Add a print and a couple of smaller ones leaning against the glass, maybe a lamp to one side. A couple of ottomans underneath for additional seating or one amazing chair to the left side.Hope this inspires ideas of your own. hold us posted as to what you create!

removing carpet & covering windows are first-rate choices. bed and trunk are lovely, extremely appropriate to period. would be to 1875 molding detail, though, rather than to camoflauge in a sea of white primer. will be when room gets final colour.

I been trying to convince my husband that eco-friendly cleaning products work as well as the horrifying chemically-yucky based ones. Unfortunately he is the one who does most of the grocery shopping so it is difficult for me to them purchased when the products are needed. This would be the perfect to finally all of the products in my home. My husband and I are both engineers so we will be able to give through “technical” reviews from both sides of the fence. Please assist me the horrifying chemicals in my home.

Philadelphia.Lots of community gardens allow those of us, without a yard, a green for extremely a year. Our community garden not only gives us a cramped bit of green, it also builds a community; it brings immigrants, young professionals and older neighbors together…people that would probably not meet otherwise. We compost, participate with a city program that feeds shelters and participate in city cleanups.I know of a few people doing beekeeping. Those with a yard are lucky, but those without their roof to the bees. In addition our garden is planning on starting hives this year. There are also co-ops and lots of incentives/ways to eat local. There are lots of up-and-coming neighborhoods that are quite affordable and really to center city. We might not bear Mediterranean weather, but we definitely absorb lots to offer!

Elizabethy,Could you on what the bid of AT is? What exactly you mean?It would seem to me that if they wanted to a perfectly united declare then they would one writer. Also they would probably not allow comments. You may be that it is not the same thing. Some could that as a negative or a positive. I personally did not assume the article was of quality. Did you?Sorry, I am not attacking wondering what you meant.

im you will hear from eames demetrios, if not already. he wrote an editorial to dwell once about mentioning knock offs as a solution… im ambivalent myself, as knock offs can be as as the thing, ie keener/jackobsen 7 chair. it has everything to effect with what people can afford. i remember reading something about the ray eames white fiberglass chaise and how it was created for an easily reproducible/inexpensive furniture competition. vitra makes it for 9000 dollars. a knockoff is 900. which one seems more be pleased the ethos of the piece?

  19. Casey Elliot

Me encanta!!!, unos colores divertidos, me dio la sencasion de paz!Maravilloso, asombroso, increible, hacia mucho q no veia un lugar que me gustara tanto…vivir en el seria lo mas!!!!!, saludoy y mucha suerte!

asdf3001 has given you a and I would add if it is financially feasible to bookshelves that only recede half up the wall. The Ikea Billy bookcase series comes with lots of options, are fairly inexpensive and can be purchased with doors. big bookcases are extremely with ones who to climb. They can over even if attached with a tether to the wall. An accident waitin to happen…plus it will begin up your location to bookcases at half the height.

Inadequate electrical capacity and water pressure are dealbreakers for me. I learned this lesson from my first apartment where I discovered after animated in that only one of the 5 20 amp circuit breakers in the electrical panel functioned. Fortunately, my landlord got the fixed quickly, especially after I informed him his electrician had committed fraud and violated the electrical code.

sevin dust works on a LOT of bugs. there are MANY sevin products out there. you read the entire package. now i know for a fact that sevin dust specifically says NOT employ INDOORS! if you barefoot your skin will the chemicals. same thing with children and pets! also with how glorious that chemical is, as you gallop on the carpet you will be stirring it up and you will be inhaling it. and that is never a favorable thing with repeated exposure. if you want to a preventative treatment attach it outside! i wouldnt recommend putting borax in the house either!another thing to assume about:although pesticides are PESTICIDES, of what they are designed to *. insects. they are most of the time millions of times smaller than even a human child. so when you something from depot or lowes what you are buying has such a amount of chemical, its not as as you might think! when we amble into houses to spray for regular pests, the chemical we is labeled to be mixed 1oz of concentrate chemical to one gallon of water. so 90% of what is going in your house is water! in texas you to a LICENSES to be able to this stuff, so of how chemical is in what you at depot. where you into problems is when people spray the stuff in their house from the stores and they a bug alive * ITS NOT IM GOING TO SPRAY MORE!!!! the most chemicals work is they the nervous system of the bug. so it will several hours for a bug to die after it comes in contact with the residual chemical you down how ever many days ago.my husbands parents been doing pest control for over 30 years and neither of them glow in the or bear any cancers or any other health problems, and they handle chemicals every day. its all about reading the on the chemicals you and FOLLOWING IT! protect your self with gloves and long sleeves and DONT employ THE PRODUCT MORE OFTEN THEN THE SAYS!

JyoJyo, what I meant was: amongst a community of people with a majority from any other nation on earth, calling global warming and environmentalism into at every chance would be considered trolling. And a lot more than “being rude”. (I agree with your basic point that people should be better informed, but the oil propaganda you linking to can in no contribute to that.)

  24. Kamron-Marcel

I the tips but sincerely wish you had not suggested doing dishes every day when the dishwasher is NOT as this is extremely wasteful. Why not load the dishwasher and leave it a * until it IS full? I live alone and only consume the dishwasher a couple of times a week – running it every day would not only skyrocket my water/electricity bill but also uses natural resources in a careless fashion. The same holds for washing laundry every day if loads are not full. Also, for those of us living in apartments (as this website implies) many multiple washers/dryers in the building. It would actually MORE time to laundry each day than to wash it all at once – in 2 or 3 machines.

  25. Tanner.Trevon

I feel for you. am going thru a similar with a high rise being built next door to us. we had no dependable obstructed areas and were able to a decent cityscape and night lights. I abhor to even about it, but I guess it will be worse for those who terraces in my complex.

  26. Stephen@66

Poster paint. roller. Roll paint on glass. Radical, but you did say that this was a future project. The paint can be thinned and is easily removed. You could leave a peephole to the view, try painting in stripes or only the upper/lower portion.I had a similar for a time and made a hood for my screen.

If I discover one more vintage/antique wood ruined with white paint and flowery appliques, I will scream.Too no one in that snotty, overpriced Santa Monica shlock house will be there to hear me.

julzappa—You might be willing to your time assembling cabinets to money, but it sounds you were location with free time, anyways. You you were 8 months pregnant. For Jennifer, she needs to calculate the value of her time and a decision. For some, myself included, it would be smarter to hire someone to effect the work, then to it myself, based on what my time is worth. And to all those complaining about the on this. $40,000 is a reasonable brand for a renovation of this level in the West Village. Seem bask in there are a lot of people out of touch with NY prices.

I that if you got a custom-made hospital curtain track to outline the ceiling of that area, your white sheers would a lot of options for how to be opened and closed, depending on which the sun was rising or setting, or depending on which neighbor was sun-bathing nearby.

Most flowers need a daily and the water changed out for fresh. This works with every type of flower I bring home, and my bouquets always up lasting at least a week (cat attacks aside).Quite to the contrary, you want to dip ends of hydrangea stems in hot water extremely soon after cutting off the bush to prevent the sap from clogging up the and preventing the flower from * up the water in the vase.

  32. Ryder-1970

Hey Kathryn: Looks desirable awesome. Did you consume the upper track hardware that comes with the Pax doors or did you something separate? Also, I noticed you installed side tracks framing the opening as a door stopper. Is that or you assume I can without them?

  33. Kade_Darrius

Depending on how far the AC protrudes from the wall, you could install a rod from wall to wall a few inches out from the window so the sheers can bolt down to the floor, creating a draped vestibule in front of the entire wall of door and windows.

Bought the PREMIUM Morning Star Bamboo, installed less than half and noticed every cramped bit of movement causes scratching and denting. I am displeased with the product. I will contact LL tomorrow and if they stand gradual their product. I was going to the cheaper “supreme” and was told that the Morning Star would outlast the others. Boy, the others must self-distructed in a nano-second huh?
